How my digital painting process works

I am frequently asked how digital painting works.

Reference Gathering: I begin by obtaining a reference image, which can be a snapshot or a formal picture. If desired, I offer the option of personally taking a picture and even sketching the subject from life. Additionally, I greatly appreciate any personal stories or information about the subject that clients are willing to share, as it helps inform my artistic process. This is also the stage where clients discuss their preferred style, which may involve factors such as dramatic lighting, color or black and white, and a painterly or sketched aesthetic.

Implementation: With all the necessary references and client preferences in hand, I dive into the creative process. The timeline for completing (from conception to delivery) ranges depending on  the medium, and size of the piece. During this period, I pour my skills and passion into bringing the artwork to life, paying careful attention to detail and ensuring it meets the client’s vision and expectations.

My goal is to provide high-quality portraits that beautifully capture the essence of the subject while incorporating the desired style elements specified by the client.

Reference images can be anything from a selfie, to a photographic portrait. (see below)
