Thank you for visiting! I’m a Portrait artist in Calgary,  specialising in figurative subjects and portraiture. I’ve been drawing and painting since I could hold a pencil.

Portraiture is what I love the most. The beauty of a face is so much more than the physical distribution of it’s features, the intangible, exquisite qualities in a person’s expression is where their magic is, finding and distilling those qualities into a two dimensional piece of art the most wonderful 

I draw inspiration from John Singer Sargent’s beautifully subversive portraits, William Turner’s wild and dangerous landscapes, David Hockney’s vibrant and ballsy compositions, and the luminous mastery of light and drama displayed by the Baroque painters.
